Public outreach session of ICAR in 100th indian science congress at kolkata on Jannuary 4, 2013
The Public Outreach Session by ICAR was organized at the National Institute for Cholera and Enteric Diseases (NICED), Kolkata on 4th January, 2013 under the tutelage of 100th Indian Science Congress (ISC 2013). The basic objective of the session was to reach out to the farmers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders, and especially students, thereby enlightening them about the multifaceted dimensions and activities of ICAR in the field of agriculture and allied sectors with an eye to further developing the human resource with ICAR. Directorate of Knowledge Management in Agriculture (DKMA), New Delhi and Zonal Project Directorate, Zone-II, Kolkata jointly organized the session. Around 100 students from different agricultural universities of West Bengal along with 100 Faculties/scientists from Universities, KVKs in West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand and some progressive farmers took part in the programme
