Union Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation graced Kisan Goshti at KVK Barh, Patna

The Union Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Shri Ram Kripal Yadav inaugurated Kisan Goshti at Sansad Adrash Gram Sonmai, Dhanarua, Patna on 17.8.2015 organized by KVK Barh, Patna, Bihar. The programme was also attended by scientists from other institutes and KVK personnel including Programme Coordinators, KVK Patna and Arwal as well as a large number of farmers and farmwomen. The Union Minister was apprised of various activities and initiatives taken up by KVK Barh, Patna like organizing training for farmers, rural youths, extension personnel; frontline demonstration; on-farm trial; seed production; video conferencing; community radio station; SMS service; swachhata abhiyan etc. The Programme Coordinator also briefed the farmers and delegates about the importance of organizing such goshti and requested the farmers to interact with the scientists about their problems and other issues. A brief interaction was followed by inaugural speech of the Union Minister, who emphasized on development of farmer- friendly technology with higher income and profitability. He urged the scientists to carry out message of improved agricultural technologies among the small and marginal farmers so that the rate of adoption could be faster. Officials of ATMA, state department, SAU and other organizations also addressed the farmers on that day.
