Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare visited ICAR-ATARI Kolkata
Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare visited ICAR-ATARI Kolkata today, the 21st June, 2016.
During his brief interaction with the Scientists, Shri Singh took the stock of the current position of KVKs of the zone from Dr. S.K. Roy, Director, ICAR-ATARI Kolkata. He emphasized on the establishment of additional KVKs in the districts of North 24 Parganas, Malda and Jalpaiguri of West Bengal. He enquired about the availability of land with the ICAR institutes/regional research stations located in West Bengal for the purpose of establishing the KVKs.
A compilation (in Hindi) entitled ‘Krish – Purbi Kiran’ was released by Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare on the occasion.
Dr. D. Nag, Director, NIRJAFT, Dr. P.G. Karmakar, Director, CRIJAF, Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, NBSS & LUP, Station In-charges, Heads of Regional Stations of the nearby ICAR Institutes and all the Scientists and Staff members of ICAR-ATARI Kolkata were present in the event.
